Key Points when Attracting Chickadees

Black Oil Sunflower Seed

A favorite of almost all seed-eating birds, your feathered friends will happily fill up on our Premium Oil Sunflower bird seed. It's a great source of energy for the birds and 99% free of sticks, stems or other foreign matter so your feeders won't clog with debris. Oil sunflower has a high calorie/ounce ratio due to its high fat and protein content and its relatively thin shell. Among seed ingredients, oil sunflower attracts the greatest variety of small and large seed-eating birds.  Fill your feeders with this top-grade fuel, and watch the birds.

Hulled Sunflower Seed

Get more birds for your bucks by offering sunflower seeds without their shells. No shells means no mess under your feeder. Hulled sunflower seeds have a high oil content and provide birds with an extra kick of energy. It's an ideal seed to offer in feeders near patios, sidewalks or balconies. Offering hulled sunflower is also cost efficient because you're not paying for the shells that are not consumed.  Bring Chickadees closer with this Top2 Favourite!

Shelled Peanuts

Providing peanuts is a great addition to the choices you offer your backyard birds. Peanuts are a high-energy food, and a wide variety of birds really enjoy them. Birds such as woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees, jays and more will frequent peanut feeders. Many of their visits will be to carry peanuts off and cache them for a later meal. We offer a variety of bird feeders that allow the birds to pull the peanuts from the feeder, and they can cling anywhere they want.  Shelled Peanuts are out Top3 for attracting Chickadees!

Bark Butter

Already enjoyed by more than 100 different bird species, Jim's Birdacious® Bark Butter® has been improved with added calcium to help promote stronger bones. Created by Jim Carpenter, founder of Wild Birds Unlimited, Bark Butter is easily spread on tree bark or a Bark Butter Feeder or scooped into a Dinner Bell™ Feeder to attract birds such as chickadees, nuthatches, catbirds, mockingbirds, wrens, woodpeckers, towhees, Brown Creepers, grosbeaks, robins and more.  Bark Butter in Original Receipe and the Bugberry Blend Bark Butter hit the list at Number 4 for what chickadees LOVE!

Nyjer Seed

Nyjer doesn’t just attract finches of all kinds, it’s also a treat for Chickadees. Its high oil content is an excellent energy source for active birds and is best used in our specially designed feeders. It is important to keep the food fresh for our picky little eaters. Once seed starts to dry out and become stale, finches will turn up their beaks for fresher forage. Nyjer is in the Top5.
